Here’s a little factoid for all you Star Wars fans:

The name “Ewok” is never mentioned in Return of the Jedi

Everybody knows the furry little people who helped to bring down the might of the Empire and yet the name “Ewok” is never mentioned in the film whatsoever. So how does everyone know the name of this species? The only time it appears in the films is in the credits.

Originally George Lucas had wanted a primitive tribe to take down the technologically advanced Empire and had scripted the Wookies to be their eventual downfall. However Wookies slowly became technologically evolved and therefore Lucas went for an opposites approach, and went for the short and stocky creatures we know and love today.
