This October, the London MCM Expo and Memorabilia London shows joined forces in what was the largest joint expo since both shows began. Sporting a revamped exhibition hall, the London Expo was brimming with cosplayers and exhibitors alike in what looked to be the busiest show they’ve held in years.
Among the main attractions this time around were Batman: Arkham City as well as the EuroCosplay Championships which dominated the show floor over the expo’s usual offerings. Attendees of all ages arrived, bubbling with excitement on getting their hands on the latest titles, merchandise and to hang out with like-minded people.
Highlights
- Adding Memorabilia London gave attendees another dimension often found at London Film and Comic Con with merchandise and vintage movie memorabilia taking centre stage.
- The cosplay on show this year was truly exemplary with participants really going to huge lengths to look the part (just as the Pyramid Head from Silent Hill will attest to).
- Drastically increased size of the theatre meant virtually anyone could just walk into any talk they wanted and be guaranteed a seat. Compared to the rush and ridiculous queues of previous shows, this definitely got a huge thumbs up from us and is something the LFCC should certainly look into bringing in.
- Much better organised with regards to human traffic. There were a few bottle necks of course (the gaming areas specifically) but generally it was improved over the last show.
- Some great deals on geeky items like the many canvas’ and vintage collectibles on display.

So as ever, with press pass in tow, we went happy snappy on the show floor.
If you’ve never been to a London Expo, we’d highly recommend attending. It’s been fantastic every time we’ve gone and it just continues to grow and improve year on year. A huge thanks to David Axbey at Showmasters who again arranged for a press pass to the show. Without him, we simply wouldn’t be able to bring this to you.
